Marketplace plans worse during special enrollment?

My partner and I just got married and reported that life event in our healthcare marketplace plans. After doing so, it told us to reapply for insurance, and the plans are all so much worse. Are the plans just worse now? Or are there fewer options during a special enrollment period?

When we applied back in December, I was getting a $329 tax credit and had a $24 a month premium and she was getting $364 with a $0 monthly premium. Now we both qualify for around a $300 tax credit (despite us both making less money now). And the plans are ridiculous. We currently have plans with no deductible and $10 specialist copays, but similar plans either aren't even available on the marketplace or they would have $200+ monthly premiums.

When we were getting married, I figured our tax credits might drop some and we'd pay 20 to 50 dollars more a month for the same plan, but $50 more a month for a plan with a $7000 deductible and no coverage until its met is extremely different.

TLDR: After getting married, our healthcare marketplace options are much worse. Is it due to the special enrollment period? Or is insurance just much more expensive than at the end of last year?
