Marketplace Insurance double coverage.

I have been out of work on LTD. I wasn’t for sure when my health insurance would end with my employer. I just “figured” it would end when I had been on leave after 6 months. Based on coverage ending at 6 months after my leave started put me at needing coverage 5/2024. I signed up for marketplace insurance that started on 5/2024. Granted this was like 4/28/2024. My first premium bounced because I went a month without income when my STD was transitioning into LTD. I get a call on 4/29/2024 that my employment had not been terminated and I would have insurance at least through 5/31/2024. I didn’t think much about it at that point. I went on marketplace and changed the start date for coverage to June/2024. Just know that that doesn’t work. I thought it was handled at this point, it clearly was not. June rolls around and I was still not terminated. I called BCBS and explained this to them. They told me to call the marketplace and tell them the situation because my marketplace application would have to be canceled through them, not BCBS. I called them June 14th (I know I should’ve called sooner but I was on vacation) and was told that application was canceled and that I would have to reapply for coverage for the life changing event. I reapplied for coverage because I knew I was definitely going to be terminated in June. I paid the premium on marketplace. I kept getting notices in the mail that my premium had not been paid and action was going to be taken. I called BCBS and tried to sort it out. The payment was applied to the May premium. I filed a ticket with BCBS and they are telling me that even though I never used the policy that I still have to pay for May and June. I am on a very limited income with no money to spare for anything. My premium is $363/month for health and dental is $34/month. I owe like $850 in insurance premiums for May and June. Is there any loophole around all of this? I’m sorry for the long story and I hope it makes sense.
