Leaving job soon—how do I make sure I have insurance next month?

I am resigning my job on July 24th of this month. I would like to know how much I would have to pay for my current insurance through my employer (FL Blue) through COBRA but they wont send me the packet to tell me how much I would need to pay until after my employer cancels the policy. That would be after this month unless I tell my employer to cancel it early (I don't want that).

I want to make an informed decision about if I should continue with this insurance next month or get something else—but how can I do this if they can only send me that packet in August? Would I be covered in August automatically if I do nothing?

It seems like the cost of this insurance would be high for me anyway; this is the breakdown.

Monthly: $536

Employee cost per bimonthly payroll (after $250 employer contribution) $132

I would be fine with the cheapest insurance to cover emergency medical expenses so I don't go bankrupt if I get in an accident since I rarely go to the doctor. I don't know how this works or what I'm doing—any insight appreciated. Thanks!
