I had some bloodwork done through Labcorp for an Aldosterone/Renin Ratio ("ARR") test a little over a month ago. The tests consist of two separate tests (Aldosterone and Renin Plasma) that both need to be conducted for usable results. For reasons not explained to either me or my doctor, Labcorp cancelled the Renin test and only did the Aldosterone test. Since these results were not very useful, my doctor had to order the full ARR test again.

My bill only lists the ARR test and does not break the ARR test down into the two separate tests that comprise it. I sent in a patient inquiry on Labcorp's portal asking for an itemized bill that separated the ARR test into its components. I don't believe that I should be paying for a test that they did not perform (i.e., the Renin test). Just for the record, I'm fully willing and able to pay for the Aldosterone test that they actually ran.

I've followed up twice, with zero response. I live in a state where hospitals are required to provide an itemized bill within 30 days of a patient's request, but I'm not 100% certain if this applies to Labcorp also. Is this something that I can file with my state DOH as a complaint?

Thank you in advance!
