I went for my annual appointment in Sept. I recently received a bill for 990 dollars from labcorp for annual blood work. The charges are showing as out of network. Labcorp is in network and I have multiple charges from the past 2 years of them being in network. Generally, a few dollars for each. I called my doctor and they verified they sent the samples to an in-network labcorp location. When I called my insurance they said it was being charged as out of network, because whoever processed my bloodwork had a North Carolina NPI. I am assuming this means my in-network labcorp sent the samples to an out of network labcorp. My doctor said they were not notified of any reason for the samples to go out of network.

Would this fall under the No Suprise Act? Am I actually liable for these charges if myself and my doctor did our due diligence to keep everything in network? What can I do to dispute these charges? Thanks for any advice
