I don’t know if there’s any military brats on here who might have experience with this but I was kicked off tricare at 21 just last month and am currently trying to figure out where to go from here. My family is currently stationed overseas and hasn’t been that helpful, and it’s illegal in Wisconsin (where i live) to not have insurance. I’m considering TYA (tricare young adult) but since I don’t live near a base I’d have to get prime which is like $730 a month (almost half of my monthly income at the moment). I wasn’t worried about this initially as I’ve always been healthy, but of course right as I lose coverage I start experiencing fairly rapid weight loss among other symptoms and now I’m kind of freaking out, it doesn’t even feel like my body anymore. I’m doing my own research of course, but it’s kind of information overload online and it feels like every website wants my phone number so they can spam call me. I’m planning on getting a second job by March hopefully, and I live with my grandparents at the moment, if any of that’s pertinent.
