Kicked off parents health insurance before I turned 26

My parents' health insurance (BCBS thru Medicaid) was renewed in September of this year, and during that renewal process my information was updated, including the fact that I'm no longer a dependent on my parents' taxes, and the insurance agent kicked me off my parents' plan. I now pay $240/month for catastrophic coverage through the health marketplace which is increasing $30/month in 2024; previously, I paid $0/month and had much better coverage under Medicaid. I live in NYC and am 23 with a decent-paying job, over the limit to qualify for Medicaid.

My question is: Shouldn't I have had until the age of 26 to be kicked off my parents' plan? I tried googling restrictions to that age limit, such as getting a better-paying salary, but nothing came up. In NY apparently I should be able to stay on their plan until the age of 30 as long as I stay an NY resident. Or am I just fucked now that I've already been kicked off? Any advice would be appreciated.
