Hi! I just started a new job and have to enroll in benefits. I’m young and moderately healthy; I only have minor lung issues which have stabilized for now. I was leaning towards Kaiser for the convenience of having everything done in one building but living in SoCal, I don’t know if I’d even be able to ever get an appt since everyone here has it. Would UHC EPO benefit me more? I haven’t heard much of UHC. I’ve always had HMOs & from what I understand EPO is a like half step above HMO right? Please correct me if I’m wrong. Also sorry for format I’m on mobile. Thank you for reading!(:

Kaiser HMO: Plan deductible: $500 Out of pocket max: $3,000 PCP/Specialist/Urgent care: $20 copay Preventative: $0 copay Emergency room & all hospitalization services are 20% coinsurance after deductible This would be $120 a month for me.

UHC EPO (in network) Annual deductible: $750 Out of pocket max: $3,250 PCP:$20 copay Specialist: $40 copay Urgent care: $50 copay Virtual visits: $5-10 copay Emergency room: $500 per visit Inpatient hospitalization: $500 admission copay & plan would pay 80% after deductible This would be $40 a month for me.

UHC PPO (in network, I don’t think I’d ever venture out of network. ) Annual deductible: $1,250 Out of pocket max: $3,750 PCP:$30 copay Specialist: $50 copay Urgent care: $50 copay Virtual visits: $5-10 copay Emergency room: $500 per visit Inpatient hospitalization: $1000 admission copay & plan would pay 80% after deductible This would be $60 a month for me.
