[Kaiser, CA] Wife turns 26 while in hospital and baby is in ICU – Covered?

Hi guys, hope this is the right place for this kind of question.

My wife had complications with her pregnancy and after staying 9 days in the hospital, she gave birth at 33 weeks which is 2 days before her 26th birthday.

Right now I have the Platinum Kaiser coverage which is the best you can get with CoveredCA. It’s ok but there are still large copays. My wife is on this plan as well.

However, my wife is also covered by her mom’s Kaiser plan which has 100% coverage of everything.

So I know my wife will be covered by both mine and her mom’s insurance since she turns 26 2 days after getting discharged.

However, our baby is going to stay in the NICU for around 4-6 weeks. I know NICU stays can be costly and there will be some pretty significant daily fees with my insurance.

My question is, whether our baby would be covered by grandmother’s insurance as well since he was admitted to the NICU before mom turned 26?
