Is this actually a problem?
Long backstory, if you don’t wanna know skip to the end.
So I have a tumor on my ovary. My hometown doctors who diagnosed me are awful. They said (when I was 15) I had a cyst on each ovary. One 6.2cm and one 7.2 cm… so pretty big. They made me suffer with the pain trying medications and “time will heal anything”… well it didn’t. Finally I had surgery (the day after my 16th birthday when I got my drivers license). After the surgery my doctor/surgeon told me it was one tumor. Not two cysts. And he left it at that. I was confused, like how could two cysts turn into one tumor? But I didn’t have any pain afterwards, and I was only 16 so how could I argue with him about anything? And my mom (who was there with me through everything), how could she do anything when I was pain free afterwards. She was just glad I wasn’t suffering anymore, as was I. Everything was fine for a few years. Until I got the pain again. I didn’t have health insurance anymore so I just kinda dealt with the pain. I finally went to urgent care and they said “well your chart says you got an ovary removed” and I was in shock. They only told me they took out the tumor why does my chart say that? So we did some tests and I have both ovaries but still one benign tumor on one of my ovaries. I get pain sometimes but usually like 3 times a month, and I know how to deal with it now.
So when they took out the one tumor and 10 years ago, they went in through my belly button and it got infected as soon as I had the surgery. We got it taken care of and I’ve never thought about it since… until a couple weeks ago. I started getting crusty stuff on my scar inside my belly button and I just wanna know if this is something that someone’s had. This scar is 10 years old (I’m 26 now) and I’ve never had another scar getting like this… is it a sign that there’s something wrong again and I need to get another surgery? I need some unbiased advice. Again I don’t have insurance so going to a doctor would already be too much. But if I don’t go, will it keep getting worse? Someone please help.
