Hello everybody, I want to thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I went to an urgent care last Fall because I was coughing up blood; they ended up saying it was covid, gave me a couple of prescriptions to help with symptoms and sent me home. I had a terrible and relatively inexpensive plan at the time that I had found through the marketplace. I did not understand my coverage well and fully expected to be charged for this visit, but I do know the urgent care we went to was in network.

We paid the bill when it came a month or so later. Today we got a call from a debt collector, saying we have two charges at this Urgent care for the same amount on the same day, one of which was paid and the other was not; we never heard anything from the urgent care beyond the first payment, and I only saw one doctor when I was there. Is this a billing issue? Is there any way I can verify the legitimacy of this debt if it is not a billing issue?
