International student insurance help

Hi! I am an international student and will move to New York in the Fall. I don't know anything about insurance, but I am required to get one, and I got in contact with ISO. I have three options: the silver, the gold and the platinum plan. They all seem great to me, but I really don't know how much medical expenses can be in the US. I can't afford the platinum, I am conflicted between the gold and the silver. I have a pre-existing condition, and I have to take pregabalin for it everyday. The only plan that covers preexisting conditions after six months is the silver, so it seems like the best option, but it's also the less covering. I would need to buy medication and get somebody to prescribe it to me, and I was wondering how much that would cost without insurance, to see if I could afford to get the gold plan to be more covered in case of emergency, and buy medication without insurance coverage. Can you help? I wrote the general characteristics of the plans below.
