Insurance provider saying I don’t have insurance

I’m a teacher in Texas and I registered through my district for health insurance. In August, I received an email saying I successfully enrolled and even received my insurance card in the mail. It says the date effect was September 1st 2022. However, I attempted to log into my account with my insurance provider and it said I didn’t have an account through them. I called them and they said the same thing, my insurance wasn’t active. I checked my paystub and my insurance wasn’t taken out of my pay either, only dental insurance. Which I registered for at the same as my health insurance.

I hate that I just noticed but I assumed since I got mailed my card and I received an email that I was enrolled. I contacted HR but I’m waiting to heard back. Can anyone help?

I’m confused how this could have happened and I’m scared that I will not be covered for the year through my district and will have to go through a more expensive provider. I’m also concerned that I’ve been without insurance for almost 2 months and I had no idea.
