insurance only wants to cover prescriptions through expresscripts mail orders? how am I supposed to do that with controlled substances?

I have BCBS. apparently they only just reached out to my pharmacy 3 weeks after getting it telling them that they are ‘out of network’ and that my insurance wants me to use express scripts mail order service if I want to be covered. what the hell? they take several days to deliver your scripts which I’m sure works fantastically for those with ailments such as diabetes and can’t miss a day of insulin. I’m just in awe and anger with this monopolization they’re attempting and I’m about to have my husband cut me from his plan and go back to pure Medicaid. I have ADHD and POTS/Small Fiber Neuropathy, so I am on mostly controlled substances and have previously been told controlled substances can’t just be mail ordered. I don’t have the money to pay for my meds out of pocket. I also have an appointment tomorrow that’s too late to cancel and my med refills are next week. I can’t afford them and I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. they already cost me 2 weeks of not being able to work because of not being able to get my meds.

I’m on my husband’s insurance through his work so I could get better care as many specialists for my multisystemic symptoms and issues don’t take Medicaid.

how is this medical monopoly allowed? what am I supposed to do?
