Insurance Issue and Filing Medical Claims Question for International Student

Hi everyone,
I'm facing an insurance issue and could use some advice. Last month, I visited Patient First for COVID-19 testing and provided them with my insurance card. However, I recently received a notice from Patient First stating that my insurance card has expired, and they are requesting a new one from me. They also mentioned a limited time frame to file the medical claim but didn't specify how long that time frame is.
To make matters more complicated, I just found out that my university has switched to a new insurance company. I've already sent them the new insurance card today.
I'm an international student, and this is my first experience with healthcare in the United States, so I'm feeling a bit concerned. Can anyone please tell me how long the typical 'limited time' is for filing a medical claim, and should I be worried about them taking my money? Thanks in advance for your help!
