Insurance is denying my refills wherever I try to fill it but they don’t offer my medications for delivery
I’ve been using Walgreens for my prescriptions for years and my doctor fills 90 day supplies. It wasn’t a problem until I was switched to my dad’s insurance. Side note, I’m 23 so still covered by my parents; they are divorced and I had been on my mom’s plan until she was unfortunately laid off. Anyways, they recently stopped covering anything at Walgreens (even 30 days) so I’d have to pay full price (ended up using GoodRX, although I was still paying as much with them as insurance) and explained that they’ll continue my 90 day refills if I register for their at home delivery service. Cool, saves me a trip. I go to register for it only to learn that they won’t deliver most of what I need, which is silly because I’m not asking for pain killers or benzos. I have a medication for acid reflux and then some prescriptions for anxiety/depression/OCD. I decided to try out Amazon’s new pharmacy program, who filled everything for 90 days, I didn’t have to pay a dime with their Rx Pass and I received it in the mail 2 days later. That same day I get an email from Amazon saying my insurance will no longer cover my medication with Amazon because they don’t want me going “outside of its preferred mail-order service”.
I’ve also been receiving my birth control through a different delivery service for a year or two now, and they also send a 3 month supply. Nothing but great things to say about them, they even send little goodies! They recently told me my insurance won’t approve that either. I don’t know what to do at this point. Is it better to just pay out of pocket/use GoodRx at this point? This just feels ridiculous
Goes without saying that I am indeed from the States.
