Insurance claims hospital stay wasn’t medically needed.

So long story short my wife had to visit the emergency room after a trip abroad. They wanted to keep her for some bloodwork and other tests. After sitting forever in the emergency room hallway because all the beds are full I ask if I can just take her home and come back tomorrow for the follow up tests.

Both the doctor and nurse say no. Nurse says that’s not possible which is new to me since growing up you could always go to the hospital but maybe it’s a small town thing where everyone knows everyone.

Doctor later says when I ask him no they want to keep her because yada yada something about it could be serious and she needs to be there to get the treatment she requires etc..

Sure that’s fine your the doctor. But, now insurance is saying oh she didn’t need to stay there.

So I plan on calling them and waiting my time because I got nothing else to do and I’ve had luck previously with this method. Where the work was entered incorrectly and after proper keying they approved it.

But, is there anything else you guys suggest? From applying for an appeal? Getting a note from the hospital/doctor? Invoking the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

If it matters turns out it was a medication she is on that she was instructed to increase causing issues.
