Inpatient place signed me up for an outpatient place and told me it was in network.

Hi everyone,

I was inpatient for about 7 days at a facility in May who then signed me up for an outpatient place for continued treatment, stating that they take my insurance. I was also told by the outpatient place that they accept my insurance when I first started, too.

I am just finishing that outpatient treatment today. I have BlueCross BlueShield and just looked at my claims, which shows the inpatient place was in network but the outpatient place is out of network. The outpatient place also has a weird LLC as its name which is not the normal name. It has billed my insurance about $70K and my insurance says I will owe $16,000. I haven't received a bill from the outpatient place yet, but is there anything I can do if I do get billed for this? I understand I should have contacted BCBS directly to confirm coverage, but I thought, since the inpatient place recommended this place and contacted them on my behalf, I would be covered.

Thank you for any help you can provide.
