In-Network Plan Discount

Hello!

Several months ago, a clinic I receive treatment at noticed all patients that they would no longer be filing insurance claims for their patients. They would remain in-network (for at least the foreseeable future) and provide patients with a superbill in order for us to file the claim ourselves.

I most recently did this for a visit from January. The claim was processed on 2/4/23. There’s a breakdown of the overall amount billed (what I paid), the plan discount and what I owe.

I reached out to the billing specialist to see if I would be receiving the amount of the plan discount back as a refund.

She told me she would neither confirm or deny that I will receive any of it and to talk to my insurance.

I was planning on taking a wait and see approach, but I’m more than a little annoyed with the purposeful vagueness of the situation. Is there any recourse other than hoping I receive a refund?
