I’m having an issue with Aetna Insurance. Not sure if I’m being denied coverage or not.

So I’m not sure based off a phone call I made earlier to the hospital which provided care, if my insurance is refusing to cover my emergency room visit or not.

I will try to quote the relevant bits.

“Aetna Better Health looked at services requested for [me]. The request received on 5/16/2022 for coverage of Behavioral Health Services was denied. This request has been denied for the following reason.

Your provider has asked us to cover services to help you where you live (Crisis Intervention Services). We will deny six units of h2011 from 5/16 2022-6/16/2022″

Then I received a letter from the hospital today.

“The prior authorization submitted to your Aetna Better Health insurance for services that were provided on 05/16/2022, was denied. [The hospital] will continue to work on overturning the denial to obtain payment for your services.”

The person at the hospital’s business office I spoke to over the phone said he wasn’t sure if it was actually a denial or not, and he said he would look more into it and get back to me by the end of the week. Thing is, I’m sort of anxious about it and would appreciate any viewpoints from the experts here.
