I paid the entire rest of my deductible for a colonoscopy/endoscopy… somehow still owe over $1,000.

First of all, this is Florida healthcare. Florida healthcare is actually something I can’t even put into words.

Anyway, I had a procedure and in order to get it done the surgery center that I went to needed an upfront payment of 2,7776.76, which was the remainder of my deductible. They threatened to cancel the procedure if that wasn’t paid. The surgeons/doctors doing the procedure were the doctors from a separate in net work GI doctor that uses the surgery center.

I went and pulled the money together (thanks mom and dad) and paid the deductible. The total cost, or my share, ended up only being $1,025. Will I be getting any money back? Or did I just pay my entire deductible and am not getting any money back?

Next question. I’ve got a bill from the GI doctors who performed the surgery for $1,222.27. On the bill it lists ‘credits’ and under insurance balance it lists $0.00. Why do I owe them more money if they are in network providers at an in network facility? Shouldn’t I owe nothing since my deductible was met?

Any advice would be helpful. I’m freaking out a little.
