I need guidance for health insurance

I'm a single f (37) that makes roughly 51 k a year give or take. I had united healthcare coverage but just going to the doctor for a wellness preventative care check up cost 800 with insurance. I also just filed my taxes and now that's going to cost an extra 3k that I have to pay back because I bought my own health insurance. I know the health care insurance in America and the health system is so flawed and the insurance agent won't stop calling me and I don't know what would be the best for me. I don't have any major medical problems. I don't have that kind of money to spend 250 a month plus the 800 for doctor visits and 3 k for taxes. I have other bills like rent, utilities, car payments, and food cost that have gotten crazy. I don't know if I should look at a ppo plan or stay with united healthcare. I am feeling overwhelmed and it is causing me to have a mental breakdown. Really how do people do it out there? My job does not offer healthcare because it is a really small business so it's me buying healthcare on my own and I need help and advise.
