I feel betrayed by my employer for giving me the wrong insurance info

I started a new job and was told that I am eligible at 90 days for insurance. It would be for myself, wife, and new baby. 3 months later, I was told that it’s actually a 6 month waiting period before I’m eligible which apparently was the insurers policy. We had no insurance and could not take our baby to her appointment that was scheduled. After lots of stress and debating on what to do, we got a short term plan that would basically cover us if anything major happened, but wouldn’t cover any vaccines or doctors visits. So we waited another 3 months and was finally eligible this week. I filled out all the paperwork and our “hr” rep submitted it, then sent me an email with the info for our upcoming appointment. She forwarded me the entire email chain with the insurance rep, and basically we almost didn’t get insurance because we were outside of the 30 day period in which we can apply. The waiting period was only 3 months, not 6, and we almost didn’t get insured. Luckily they were able to work it out, but it still caused us a lot of unnecessary stress.

That’s the end of my venting. Thanks for listening!
