Husband didn’t add me to health insurance. Now what?

I switched jobs in summer 2022 and took a job that does not offer health insurance with plans to go on my spouse's. He was previously on my old employer's. He informed HR, triggered qualifying event, and added himself and THOUGHT he added me. I am listed as a dependent and could request a card, but am NOT on the plan because he didn't submit verification document. He is speaking with HR and insurance Monday, but I just learned this at a specialist visit I will have to pay out of pocket.

Is my only option to quit my job and get one with insurance at this point? This may be very difficult. Please be kind. I am in shock myself.

EDIT: I am sure you are wondering how this could happen. Me too. However, we were both very sick with COVID during the exact window we would've been doing insurance changes. Me especially. I think we missed something obvious in our sickness….
