How to get cheaper insurance when my work offers horrible insurance?

Hi, after talking to my coworkers I found out that I am vastly overpaying for health insurance. I’m in my early 20s, single, and am paying about $250 a month for crappy insurance that barely covers anything with a high deductible. They are paying $175 a month and less with more health issues than I have. They recommend that I go through marketplace insurance and after calling around I have figured out that because my work offers horrible insurance and because I am right on the line in which my current insurance (cheapest they offer) technically is considered “affordable”, I do not qualify for subsidized insurance.

I live in a very rural area so there aren’t a lot of jobs and I actually make decent money for my age and where I live (but rent, utilities, and car insurance are crazy expensive— after my bills are paid I have very little left over for gas, car, and groceries). Going on my dad’s insurance is not an option and I have been on my own since my teens.

The problem I face is that because I am young and healthy, my insurance offered by my work is still considered “affordable”. My older coworkers with higher premiums offered quality for subsidized marketplace insurance while I do not.

I am asking what my best move is in this situation and how to get more affordable insurance if possible. I have PCOS which I need to have a yearly doctors visit to renew my medication but other than that, I haven’t been going to the doctor in the last year. My current insurance doesn’t take much or anything off the cost of my medication anyways so I’m basically paying $250 a month for insurance I do not really need or use.
