I just had my second baby two weeks ago. I applied for and qualified for Medicaid in NYS shortly after my 26th birthday in January, under the impression that I would be removed from my mother's health insurance (BCBS of Michigan). Their website says they don't allow children over 26 to be on the plan, and my mom said I would be off! Didn't think anything else of it. I applied for Medicaid on the premise that I qualified for and had no other insurance. I thought this to be 100% true at the time.

I recently discovered that my mom never saw that I was removed and has been somehow still paying for it out of her check, and they are seemingly still covering my care, since they attempted to enroll my newborn. I have no idea if they have been covering anything but I stopped paying out of pocket for copays when I enrolled in Medicaid and never thought anything more of it. I dont know what to do from here without somehow getting in trouble or owing a ridiculous amount of money. :/ Not even sure the proper way to go about this.
