How do I get through Coordinated Care’s phone tree?
I'm on medicaid through Coordinated Care and in order to be covered for something, I need "prior authorization".
I'm directed to call Member Services, but their automated phone system doesn't recognize me as a member. I retried several times to make sure it wasn't a typo, and after a 3 fails I just get hung up on.
I checked their website and I'm still showing up as a member; my coverage isn't expected to expire until January next year.
When I tried to get authorization previously, I went through three weeks of back and forth via the website's "secure communications portal" only to be told a rep would call me in the next 5 business days – no indication of which day or what time.
Two weeks later I got a call from a rep – in the middle of classes when I couldn't answer – saying to call him back. I tried, but there was nothing on the other end, no message, just dial tone and then hangup. Nine days later he tried again, and again in the middle of class, and again I tried to call back – same deal. So I gave up. (Was I supposed to take two full weeks off just to receive a single phone call?)
This time I tried to be proactive and call this morning on my own time, but now I can't get through their automated system. Is there any way I can reach a real person?
EDIT: I'm 28 and in Washington state; income is currently zero as I'm a full-time student.
