How do I find a Cigna LocalPlus provider?

Is there a specific way to find a Cigna LocalPlus provider that is different from the “find a provider” search function on the cigna website?

Backstory: We have a Cigna LocalPlus PPo provided through my husband’s employer (administered through Allied Benefits). When we got this plan I double checked that our current pediatrician is in-network. Our insurance card instructs us to use mycigna.com to find a provider. I did so, and all four doctors at this practice show as in-network.

I got a bill today for $480 for a well-visit from last month. I called the customer service number on the back of my card for Allied Benefits and the representative explained that it was billed as out of network since these doctors are not LocalPlus. She said she searched the address and doctor’s name and he isn’t covered. All the options I see for finding providers (through my accounts on the Cigna website and the Allied Benefits website, which just redirects to the Cigna search page) show that he is in network.

What am I missing here? How would I know if someone is LocalPlus?
