Hospital says insurance processed but never paid so I’m stuck with gigantic bill I can’t pay. Insurance says it’s still processing.

I am at a loss as to what to do. So originally I got billed for the whole amount a couple months ago. They said insurance processed the claim, paid it and then pulled the money back. We did not know any of this until we got a giant bill. We talked to insurance and they said they would reprocess the claim for us. That was around a month and a half ago. Today I get a huge bill AGAIN but just a little bit less because the hospital applied a discount for us having insurance. The hospital said the claim had been processed for over 30 days and our insurance never paid but processed so we have to cover the amount. It’s due in two weeks. Hospital wanted updated EOB for the claim sent to them to try to help us not get the bill sent to collections

I call insurance. They say we haven’t finished processing this bill so we can’t do anything. Oh, and they also said they can’t send an updated EOB to the hospital because the claim hasn’t processed yet. It should he only a small amount because the bill should be fully covered. They don’t know what’s going on. I’ve been on hold all afternoon.

I’m going to go crazy.
