Home birth coverage- UHC or Medi-Cal

I am currently still covered under my mom's insurance (United Health Care) and also have medi-Cal coverage. I moved 300 miles away from my mom. There are no in network providers in even a 100 mile radius of where I live. Since I moved, all of my care has been through Medi-Cal because of this. I am desperately hoping to have a homebirth. When I spoke to people at UHC I was basically told this plan is useless for me since there are no providers in such a wide radius and my only option is to try to convince providers in the area to begin taking UHC.

I was hoping someone might have some suggestions. Is there any hope of getting Medi-Cal to cover a portion of the costs of a homebirth with a certified professional midwife? Or are there any avenues I should attempt further with UHC to get them to cover a portion? As far as I understand, it seems like I have to pay out of pocket for a homebirth, but I'm hopeful you all may have some insight! Thanksđź’“
