Help Please Express Scripts says Pre Authorization has Expired?

I'm in a bit of a panic. I'm supposed to pick up Ozempic 2mg tomorrow and I'm supposed to take it tomorrow. I've been on it for over a year. I have DIABETES, this is not about weight loss. I've had incidents where it was unavailable but this is new to me. I've never heard of an expiration date on Pre Authorization for a maintenance drug, for Diabetes.

And I was told about htis by the pharmacy which was preparing my order on Friday before the Saturday I was supposed to pick it up. So I called Express Scripts and they claim it's real and I should "call my doctor" and they gave me the phone number I should give the doctor to call. It was 2:30 PM when I gave that number to my MD's staff. It seems likely I won't get my usual dose.

But then I tried to google "expired pre authorization medical" and "prior authorization expired" and all sorts of things and I can't find anything about it. I saw some conflicting stories saying yes it happens and no it doesn't, that maybe Express Scripts tries to force people to buy 3 months of meds at a time, or it has preferences for certain pharmacies. But this all sounds fishy and conjecture.

Does such a thing as "preauth expiration date" exist? And if so, fine. But what should I do? How do I find out when that is, how do I make sure the new preauth is in place before the old one expires? And can I do anything at 3:15pm on a Friday before Memorial day weekend to get my usual dose of Ozempic this week?
