Help I don’t know what health insurance to get

I’m officially too old to be covered on my parents insurance so I have the option now to get health insurance through my job. I just had a meeting with a representative from the health insurance company and I felt kind of stupid because I didn’t even know what half of the things she was saying meant. She basically told me I would have a deductible of $10,000 and I would pay 100% of all services until I hit that threshold. That really seems like a rip off because from my understanding I would have no insurance until I spend $10k on healthcare…. What is the point of insurance at that point? I guess my question is does every insurance company do this where you have to pay the full amount of the service out of pocket until you’ve spent a certain amount of money on the deductible? If so I hate it here. Lol. Like I said this is my first time enrolling in health insurance and I didn’t even know what a deductible was until about 10 minutes ago. I just want to be able to go to the doctors office when I’m sick and not pay the full price. Are there any affordable insurance companies that will cover me right away without me having to pay full price?
