Healthcare.gov Application Income Mistake – What to Do Getting Florida Medicaid info

We recently gave birth to our first and I went into Healthcare.gov to update my application to add our little one to our existing private insurance plan that was obtained via the marketplace in Dec 2023. We’re self-employed & temporarily closed our online business, just living off savings, so on the initial application, I inputted our current monthly income at zero dollars per month and what I expect our yearly income to be (which actually is pretty much unchanged from what I inputted during open enrollment in Dec. 2023)

After hitting submit, I was told we are no longer eligible for private insurance and actually eligible for Florida’s Medicaid program via United Health. Not wanting this option and preferring our current insurance provider, I immediately went back in, updated my current monthly income to equal my annual income divided by 12 and resubmitted an application. Results: No longer eligible for Medicaid, and back to my original private insurance plan as initially expected. Its been a month since then and I experienced no lapse in my private insurance, and my son was added no problem. We’ve seen primary care providers, paid our monthly bill no problem.

The problem is a few days ago I received insurance cards for Florida’s Medicaid for the entire family, like they ignored my updated most recent Healthcare.gov application and is going off my application with zero monthly income.

What should I do here? I’m concerned when it comes tax time there’s a question about whether or not I was eligible for Medicaid and can result in paying back a subsidy. Thank you
