Health Insurance- Qualifying event Question/IVF

Hello, I wanted to post this question to see if anyone knew if my assumptions were correct and therefore my plan is going to work.

My partner and I are about to start IVF… We have done all the tests and are about ready for our final consultation to begin. I am about to be 40 so pretty scared about multiple rounds.

We are not married but basically just consider ourselves married, I just was only able to prioritize one thing right now and that is having a baby before I get older. I have Cigna through my job, no fertility benefits. My husband has Cigna through his job that offers decent fertility coverage. ($25k lifetime for fertility treatments plus $25k lifetime for Rx)… Needless to say we would like to use his coverage but do not want to wait to begin IVF in January. Would like to begin asap. We are going to go to the courthouse to get married, get the marriage license to use as a qualifying event to DROP my insurance coverage and be put on his.

I heard if I do this before the 15th of the month then I would have coverage starting the first of the following month but also heard that I might need to wait a whole 30 days.

Does anyone have experience acquiring insurance from a qualifying event and being able to use it for a procedure such as IVF the following month. Thank you for your thoughts and consideration!

We live in Florida if that makes a difference!
