I get health insurance from my employer. I was given no documents after signing up for this. I see they are required (and supposed to automatically) send me a SPD. I specially requested this to figure things out and it doesn't clearly explain all the coverages for my plan, and it mingles my info with five other plans and comes with an additional addendum book for years since the SPD was updated further complicating things.

Most insurance I have such as Auto or Home insurance, when you get it you get an "Insurance Plan" contract document that specifically says what is covered for your plan. Do employers/health insurance companies have no obligation to give you the actual insurance contract detailing what is covered in what you are paying for? How would I go about getting such document. I don't want more summaries I want the actual legal mumbo jumbo preferably without having to mingle through 5 other plans and reference an addendum. Additionally, there are requirements for services not in the SPD.
