Hi everyone,

I hope I’m in the right place and I want to thank you in advance for your help

For context, before I start, because I know it may affect some of my options. I am not a US Citizen. I have DACA which allows me to work in the US and have a social security number, this must be renewed every two years which I am on top of

I am a 24 year old male. The last time I had health insurance was about four years ago. I was a part time bank teller and part of my paycheck went to a health coverage plan I was enrolled in. When I did have health insurance, I had vision coverage as I wear glasses. Now what my health covered, I couldn’t tell you, which I know is bad, but I was young and healthy and active, never needed to really use it

I went to law school and just recently graduated. I found a good job for now. Unfortunately, they don’t have any benefits. The best they can do is starting in June 2023, they will give everyone a $3,000 bump in salary, paid in increments of $250 per month which is supposed to be a benefits substitution. I don’t want to just waste this extra money, I want to make sure I’m covered, health wise. I have my own 401K and Roth account that I will be contributing to, in addition to a life insurance policy

I am looking for a health plan and don’t know where to start or how it all works. Do I pay monthly? Weekly? What should I include? I am healthy and don’t have any pre-existing conditions. Ideally, I want something which involves vision, preferably LASIK coverage as this is something I would like to get done within the next year or so. I know it might be a bit too late for my age, but if there is a plan that covers braces, I would like my teeth fixed as well. Health wise, what do you all recommend? Besides being a bit overweight (not much, just need to get back in the gym lol) I don’t have any health issues

Sorry if I’m not including anything major that is supposed to normally be told to receive better help, I’m new to this

Edit: I am in Louisiana for now… may move back to Indiana. Income is about 50K
