HDHP for birth – what should I expect?

What should I expect? I am trying to figure out how adding a newborn to a health insurance plan would change things.. my wife and I are on separate insurances so trying to figure out which plan to add them to (for basically 1 month…to add to the craziness is that I will get a new job 7/1 with significantly better insurance so my insurance will change soon).

We are expecting June 2024. I know the birth will likely meet our deductible (and my wife has some other unrelated care she needs to get prior to the birth too) and get close to OOP max, but wondering how the HDHP then changes when baby is born. She would file for a life event and add baby to plan – does her job now contribute an additional 1k? Does the deductible now increase? Does the OOP max now go up?

My wife: HDHP ($103/mo ,goes to $176/mo with baby) w HSA (company contributes 1k/year for individual/ 2k if covering depedents, deductible 1.5k for individual/3k for family, OOP max 3k indiv/6k family). Pediatric routine care covered 100%.

Me: normal plan (152/mo, goes to 244/mo with baby) don't plan to use otherwise, deductible 100/200, OOP max 1400/2800. pediatric routine care covered 100%.

What would you do?

Thanks in advance.
