Haven’t received a bill for an out-of-network claim 6 months ago.

[USA] I haven't received a bill from my Therapist's third-party clinic for 3 sessions that were billed to insurance at the beginning of the year (Jan. & Feb.).

Insurance considered my provider out-of-network. I love my therapist, so I agreed to self pay instead (much cheaper). However, the 3 sessions billed to insurance as out-of-network were never sent back to the clinic by my insurance company. I called the clinic to ask and self-pay them, so that I'm not hit with a fat surprise bill at the larger negotiated rates. But, the sessions don't show up on the clinic's end and I also don't see them on my end in the patient portal. In my insurance portal, the out-of-network claims still show up…

Now, I'm in limbo wondering if I owe money and who will send me the bill. My fear is that the bill will go to collections if I haven't seen it.

What do I do??
