Have to pay $1000. Please help!

Hello!

I got a hip arthroscopy done last week that I am running into some issues with billing-wise. I had to sign this financial agreement with the surgeon’s office beforehand that stated if they did an additional procedure beyond the hip arthroscopy and labral fix, it’d be billed to me directly under unlisted code 29999. At the time, I didn’t think much of it and just agreed to it thinking I can deal with it later if it actually happened as I really needed the procedure.

They called me today and it turns out that they did do something that did fall under that agreement, and I have to pay $1000.

My question is what is the best way to handle this claim with my insurance, if any? I tried calling them but they were not too fruitful in the response so I am resorting to reddit, haha. They just directed me to their claims part of their website, but I am not sure what exactly I need… My insurance is Humana Military/Tricare which I know makes it even more difficult. If I am SOL, feel free to let me know.

Thanks for the help in advance.
