Group plan – high deductible + gap coverage?

We're trying to obtain group coverage for my small company, There would be six or seven people in the group. Right now they all have individual plans on the marketplace.

After speaking to several brokers we've gotten a couple proposals that want us to couple high-deductible bronze plans from Blue Cross or BCN with a "gap plan" from companies like Acrisure or Baybridge, which I have never heard of.

The design is such that the employee has a deductible of, for example, $7500. Until it's met, not much is covered. But the gap plan covers "first dollar" for all care up to $6000. So the employee would pay nothing until they've hit $6000, then they would have to pay the next $1500 in services, and then the traditional plan would kick in.

I'm completely unfamiliar with such gap plans and I'm having a hard time finding good information about them online. Both of the brokers making this type of proposal are just saying "Oh yea don't worry, they cover everything and almost all providers take them".

I'm suspicious. Does anyone have experience with this kind of setup? Is it something worth considering, or better off dismissed as an option?
