Got a second insurance through employer halfway through payments to my provider using my insurance through my parents and now I owe double. Please help explain and what can I do??

I've been using Moda Health Insurance that I have through my parents to pay for a set of doctor visits. My provider billed me a total of $4000 that I've been making payments on since 10/17/2023 when my visits started. I have $1200 left on my payments.

About 2 months ago I signed up for United Health insurance through my employer, and gave that information to my provider.

Now the billing specialist is saying I owe $1374 on my payments, and since United is through my employer it is my primary and so they have billed United and I now owe United $3450, on top of owing my provider the rest of the payments on the $4000.

I know nothing about how insurance works and am so confused, and mostly just frustrated because I am fairly low income and would rather not pay double when I originally budgeted for and agreed to paying the original amount.
