GA Medicaid…lowering income to qualify…HELP!

Last year, I was told at my son’s renewal (who is now 4) that if I made $12 more a month, he would be kicked. I was making $18/hr at the time. Got a small raise and got bumped to 18.75/hr.

I didn’t consider his Medicaid when I got this raise. I asked our VP a few months ago to bump me down and explained why, she said they would definitely do that for me and would think about me at Christmas and my work anniversary (they have ALWAYS treated me extremely well).

Since the last week of August I have been making the same amount as I did the previous year when I qualified.

We are a household of 3- me, my son, and my husband (he is the child’s father). He was not working last year when the Medicaid renewal came up (he was seriously injured at the time), but I don’t remember if they asked for his income.

My questions: 1. Will they see how much I’ve made overall this year and cut my son’s Medicaid anyway? Last year I believe they only pulled a few weeks of my paystubs. 2. Will they require my husbands income? He now has a job, doesn’t pay much but we would be well over the limit. I read somewhere that it only takes the applicants income amount, not that of the spouse, but I could be wrong.

We don’t receive any other benefits other than my kiddos Medicaid, and we can’t afford to lose it. He has weekly OT and an upcoming Autism evaluation that he’s been on the wait list for for almost 2.5 years. Any advice or answers? I’m absolutely stressed about this.
