Forgot to report private insurance to Medi-Cal: I am reporting it ASAP, will I be charged

I applied for Medi-Cal through Covered California in 2022 and was approved. I was not asked if I had private insurance and I did not know that I had to report that I was a dependent on my parents insurance (I was independent for tax purposes).

I only used my Medi-Cal once to get an IUD at Planned Parenthood and I think I told them I have private insurance as well. I am so scared and I want to be a teacher so i can't have a record. I looked it up and apparently it's a misdemeanor but has to be intentional. If I report it ASAP and say I didn't know then will I not be charged? I'm young (24) and not mentally stable as I am getting therapy for hearing voices in my head and PTSD so hopefully that will get me leniency.

According to the California Welfare Code: Any person eligible under this chapter who, subsequent to the date of application for such assistance or coverage under this chapter, acquires any other contractual or legal entitlement to any health care service defined in Section 14053, and willfully fails or refuses to give notice thereof to his county welfare department within 10 days of such acquisition, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
