For Medi-Cal continuity of care, is there anything I should know before the case management department’s call to keep my doctor?
I recently switched to Medi-Cal Alameda Alliance for Health since I can no longer afford my BSCA $900+ premium per month. Alameda Alliance for Health cover my PCP's clinic but can't directly assign me to the clinic anymore, they have to ask for it under "continuity of care," I guess to see if I really need to stay there? So I'm going to have to talk to them before they approve it. I have an autoimmune condition, gastrointestinal condition, lots of stuff going on. It's especially important that I stay at that clinic because of my autoimmune stuff since I was sick for 4 months Oct-Jan and we didn't know why until they discovered the autoimmune issues that we are trying to treat (UCSF Rheumatology). The situation is pretty hard to explain, and I actually waited years to get into UCSF primary care, I don't know if they're even open to new patients yet since the pandemic started. Is there anything I shouldn't say? Anything I should emphasize? I have a complicated history. Thank you everyone!
