Hi Reddit, to start I have struggled with migraines for at least 17 years. Nothing has really seemed to be of much help once they really start to get going. They usually last for several days and I get to the point where I can’t drive, sleep, eat, and I can’t even drink water cause I’ll just throw it right back up. I’ll even just vomit bile if the migraine gets really bad and I don’t have anything in my stomach. I obviously can’t go to work when I’m like this so I have been seeing my GP and he’s been filling my FMLA paperwork out for me for that last year. He referred me to the neurologist and when I brought her my paperwork for renewal she said they absolutely do not do that paperwork and it would HAVE to be my GP. I’m late now on this paperwork I have to get resigned every 6 months. Thankfully I’ve had no flareups.. but now I’m at the GP and he said he’ll sign it today but since he’s referred me to neurologist for this issue it’s no longer his responsibility and he will not be signing it anymore.

My question is what the heck am I supposed to do if I go back (it’s $45 for one appointment there) and she refuses to sign it again. My GP will no longer sign it and called the neurologist lazy saying they just don’t want to do it. Like what am I supposed to do and how do I complain about this very serious thing I need to be taken care of and now not knowing where to go to get it renewed in 6 months.

Who do I even go to. I get insurance through my work and it’s Florida blue. I visit the Cleveland clinic if that helps
