Florida Medicaid with Private Insurance – doctor doesn’t accept the private insurance.

My child support court order requires that I enroll my children in my employer sponsored healthcare plan if they’re eligible. I’m also responsible for uncovered costs.

The children have Medicaid in Florida (based on their other parent’s income there I guess. I don’t live there and would not qualify if my income was included).

My question is this: the other parents wants to take my daughter to a doctor that does not accept my insurance (BCBS). The office checked. However, they do accept Medicaid and told the other parent that there will be no uncovered costs.

That’s all great if it’s true but is there a chance Medicaid won’t pay because my daughter does have OHI (even though the doctor doesn’t accept it and won’t bill it)?

If it’s helpful info, I know that when the other parent applied for Medicaid, the state agency sent me a letter stating that they were aware that by court order I was required to provide the health insurance and they were therefore going to bill me for the Medicaid (I guess? I still have the letter if I need to provide more details). So my impression was that they weren’t aware that I was providing the insurance already. I replied with the insurance plan info and didn’t hear anything back. Not sure if it changed anything to do with their coverage.
