First Health Network/Innovative Partners

Hi guys! I recently went to the ER due to some chest pain, and shortness of breath. They ended up doing Xray, ekg, and blood tests. However, I did not have my insurance (it doesn’t activate until may 1st). A lady on Covered California had signed me up for First Health Network/Innovative Partners, saying that my ER visit would be covered by them, without a deductible. However, I would have to pay the amount out of pocket and file a claim with insurance after to get reimbursed. I was emotional and listened to them without thinking much. Now, 2 days later I’m wondering if I got scammed. I tried looking up the company but didn’t see much besides people saying it’s a scam. If it is, what should I do? I also spent most of my money paying for the visit thinking I’d get it back. But now that this problem occurred, would i be able to call the ER to ask for a refund and have them put me on a payment plans? I am confused and do not know what to do….
