[Expat] [Global Health Insurance] – Forgot to mention a Doctors Visit – what to do?

Hi everyone,

I have a question that perhaps you guys could help me with. I come from a country with universal health care which means I’ve never really learned the ins- and outs of Medical Insurance, and the aforementioned rules that comes with it. Bless!

Background: I’m leaving my home country to work in South East Asia and for that reason I, today, acquired a Global Health Insurance plan via Cigna Global that is set to start late next month.

Over the phone, right before acquiring and paying for a one year plan, the guy from Cigna asked me of my previous medical history and I told him I had no previous illness or medications. When everything was settled, and we had hung up, I remembered that I did in fact have not only one, but two, visitations to the local medical office within 3 years:

“Fatigue/Lack of sleep/Increased bathroom visits”

No diagnoses was made, no medicine was subscribed to me and I wasn’t a “inpatient” or anything like that. We did, however, take some blood tests that came out negative (i.e. good).
– I was advised to cut back on my heavy coffee/caffeine drinking and it was the end of my issues.

2)
“HPV”
I got sexual transmitted Herpes and was given some pills…

– So, how does all this work now. Is my insurance void if anything happened, as I forgot to disclose these things?
– Whats my best way of action here – contact the salesmen at Cigna ASAP and set it straight?
