Enrolled in 2 insurance plans- son having surgery this month

I (26f) was laid off from my job on Feb and my husband (27m) is self employed. I’ve since decided to just stay home with our 2 boys (2 and 8mos). We’ve been enrolled in COBRA insurance because we knew my son would be needing surgery, which is scheduled for June 23. The COBRA plan is an excellent plan and my ex employer is paying a subsidy through June so the cost is the same as it would have been while I was working. I planned on canceling that insurance July 1st and we were going to find a new plan.

Now, here’s the problem. My husband enrolled us in the new plan and it’s effective June 1st and the coverage isn’t nearly as good as the COBRA. Our deductible on the COBRA is almost met for our son and we have a low OOP Max. So we wouldnt be paying a ton of money for the surgery for my son. But now what happens since we have 2 health insurance plans now?? Can we cancel then reenroll or delay enrollment in the 2nd? Not disclose the 2nd?

Thank you for any insight!
