Dual but mutually exclusive coverage insurance, is it possible?

Hey folks, I'm in a strange situation and looking for help. I'm in Southern California, I'm currently self employed and pay for Kaiser Platinum 90 HMO. My current client had to furlough some of my hours because they're cash tight and I'm joining a company that will provide me with Anthem Blue Cross Platinum PPO. I'll work for both at the same time, 40 hours at the new job, 15 at my consulting/self employed role.

My question is: is it possible for me to keep both and use them separately? I like Kaiser's urgent care and emergency room as they're the fastest in my area, and faster than other non-Kaiser hospitals in my area. But I'm really frustrated by how long it takes me to see my own doctor or a specialist and I'm frustrated by the depth of tests ran during an annual exam. I'd also like access to the doctors at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai instead of bouncing back and forth over months in the Kaiser HMO system and the best I'll get is a video appointment with a nurse practitioner.

So I'm in a situation where I can afford to pay for Kaiser platinum through this year and next year downgrade to Gold. What I'd like to do is have access to Kaiser's emergency room and and urgent care and never bring up Blue Cross PPO. Then when I need specialist help, use the PPO plan and see the specialists and never bring up Kaiser, or if I want to get One Medical to see a regular doctor without waiting over a month, use the PPO plan and never mention Kaiser.

I keep running in the wall of "Coverage of Benefits" and the examples used in those articles are if 1 spouse is on one plan and the other spouse is on the other plan and they add each other to their plans. But I want to use both plans in a mutually exclusive way and benefit for both. Is this even possible? Would I get buried in paper work and costs if I do this and need medical care or would it work really well so long as I keep them separate and exclusive of each other.
